From my earliest memories, I have been fascinated by the life around me, especially those that lived in wet environments. As a child, I always wanted to play in leech- and mosquito-infested swamps and bring home all manner of plants and animals to grow and study. That interest in the physical world has never left me as I went on to earn a PhD. in Animal Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
As a broadly trained scientist, I am able to draw on the science of many disciplines in achieving ecological solutions. I provide scientific expertise to California’s aquaculture industry, and the driving force in my current research program is to be at the forefront of environmental and production sustainability and ecological integrity.
