You’re going to have a great time (and if you’re a parent, you’ll enjoy the three-week break knowing that your teenager is having a great time).
To apply, please complete the application form and submit the following materials electronically through our online application system. Your application fee is due along with your completed application and materials.
Your supplemental materials will include:
We’ll need an official transcript sent from your high school by the registration deadline, but you can expedite our consideration of your application by uploading an unofficial copy with your online application.
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your high school in one of the following ways:
UC Davis Pre-College Programs
1333 Research Park Drive
Davis, CA 95618
Digital Copy: Email to firstname.lastname@example.org; please include student’s first and last name and “official transcript” in the subject line. Emails must be sent from an address that is clearly identifiable as an official institutional email in order to be recognized as official.
It is your responsibility to request your official transcripts from your high school. Please provide them with the submission information above.
Please respond to the following short-answer questions in a single document. Your responses should be limited to approximately 250 words each. We know that’s short but don’t worry—your Personal Statement will provide another opportunity for us to get to know you.
Tell us about why you selected the UC Davis Pre-College program area(s) that you chose. How does it match up with any previous experience or future goals? What do you hope to get out of your participation in the program?
Tell us about one or two of the interests and activities that are most important to you.
What motivates you to pursue them? How much time do you devote to them? How have they made a difference in your life?
The personal statement is your way of introducing yourself to us. We’d love to know who you are (beyond your transcripts) and why you want to be part of the Summer 2017 UC Davis Pre-College Program. No need for a novel—two pages is fine. (Limit: 1200 words)
You’ll need two letters of recommendation. One must be from one of your current or recent high school teachers. The other can be from another teacher, a school guidance counselor or other adult who knows you well in a professional or academic capacity. You’ll enter names and email addresses for your two recommenders, and we’ll contact them directly to request the letters.
Feel free to submit test scores, academic writing samples, or other materials that you think will help give us a clearer picture of who you are as a person and as a student. (Limit of 3 optional uploads)
In addition to the standard application requirements, international students are also asked to submit language proficiency exam scores, such as TOEFL or IELTS. Additional information about international student application and registration requirements can be found here.
Your application will not be reviewed until all required materials are received. Your application fee must be paid in order to complete submission.
Once your application is complete, it generally takes about 10 business days for an admissions decision to be made.
We look forward to learning more about you!
Application fees are not refundable.
